If you blinked, you might have been lucky enough to miss her – but here’s a way to toast the fleeting memory of Britain’s briefest Prime Minister.
Liz Truss, who lasted just 50 days in Downing Street, is being immortalised as a Toby Jug.
Despite her astonishingly short and destructive stint in the top job, she will be honoured just like her PM predecessors, who have ceramic tankards created in their image on sale in the House of Commons gift shop for £32.
But if you want one of Truss, you’ll have to be quick to Order! Order! – because a limited run of just 1,500 has been commissioned.
A source said: “The Liz mug will sell out straight away. Then they will be all over eBay.
“No PM is ever going to beat her record of 50 days. The jug will be a brilliant party piece.”
Truss’s mug won’t be available until the New Year but there are plenty more Tories to swill from, including Margaret Thatcher, Boris Johnson and Alec Douglas-Home, who was in office for just 363 days in the 1960s.
Now that’s something Liz could only dream of…
