Liz Truss' time spent as Prime Minister compared to Frank de Boer's stint at Crystal Palace

Former Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer lasted longer at Selhurst Park than Liz Truss' short tenure as Prime Minister.

Truss resigned on Thursday afternoon after just 44 days in charge, the Conservative leadership race that saw her elected lasted longer at 54 days.

Her brief stint in No.10 has been mocked online, with people pointing out various other leadership reigns that were longer.

One of those is De Boer's time in charge of the Eagles, a job he was given in the summer of June 2017 after leaving Italian giants Inter Milan.

However, despite signing a three-year deal to replace Sam Allardyce, an abysmal start in the Premier League meant the Dutch coach was quickly under pressure.

Four league defeats later and failing to score in any of those games, De Boer was eventually relieved of his duties after just 77 days at the helm.

The former Ajax manager did win one game, a 2-1 win over Ipswich Town in the League Cup, but his poor league record saw him replaced by Roy Hodgson after just 10 weeks in west London.
