No Scottish Tory MP has publicly endorsed the bookies’ favourite to be the next Conservative Prime Minister
Liz Truss is struggling to win the support of parliamentarians north of the border, with only one MSP so far backing her.
It came as former Scots Tory leader Ruth Davidson backed Truss rival Rishi Sunak for the top job.

Over 100,000 Tory members will decide whether Foreign Secretary Truss or former Chancellor Sunak will succeed Boris Johnson.
MPs voted for the pair to go head-to-head and a six week contest will determine the winner.
However, despite Truss being tipped to beat Sunak, Scottish Tory politicians are not rushing to back her.
Of the six Scottish Conservative MPs, Andrew Bowie is backing Sunak, while her former PPS John Lamont supported Penny Mordaunt, who was eliminated from the contest yesterday.
Party leader Douglas Ross and Scottish Secretary Alister Jack are staying tight-lipped, while fellow MPs David Duguid and David Mundell have not made public endorsements.
However, MSP Oliver Mundell is supporting Truss.
Both candidates have expressed strong support for the Union and rejected SNP calls for indyref.
Truss, who attended a primary school in Paisley, has described herself as a “child of the union”.
Asked if there any circumstances in which she would agree to indyref2, she said:
“No. The referendum in 2014 was described as a ‘once in a generation’ referendum and we’re now in 2022. That is not a generation ago.”
Meanwhile, Davidson, who remains a popular figure in the party, cited the economy as the top issue during the contest and backed Sunak.
In a piece for the Daily Telegraph, she wrote: “My job in this election is to pick the person best placed to steer us through those choppy economic waters.
“So, for me, it has to be Rishi Sunak.”
