Social media is filled with well wishes and hopeful thoughts from a number of politicians and celebrities, after Buckingham Palace today announced that Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision amid doctors concerns for her health.
The 96-year-old Monarch is at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, with Prince Charles and Camilla by her side, with grandson Prince William on route.
This news follows ongoing mobility issues in recent times, with Queen Elizabeth II - equipped with a walking stick - looking bright but frail during Tuesday’s historic audience with new Prime Minister Liz Truss.
And Ms Truss was one of the first to share her wishes of hope with followers online after Buckingham Palace broke the news to the world that doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health. Taking to Twitter this afternoon, she penned: "The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime. My thoughts - and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom - are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time."
And more politicians around the United Kingdom quickly followed suit, with Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer writing his own well wishes. He added: "Along with the rest of the country, I am deeply worried by the news from Buckingham Palace this afternoon.
"My thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time, and I join everyone across the United Kingdom in hoping for her recovery."
Meanwhile, First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, said: "All of us are feeling profoundly concerned at reports of Her Majesty’s health. My thoughts and wishes are with the Queen and all of the Royal Family at this time," while the SNP's Ian Blackford, echoed: "Deeply concerning news from Balmoral which has been announced by Buckingham Palace this afternoon.
"Her Majesty The Queen & her family are in my thoughts & prayers at this time, and I join everyone across Scotland & the UK in wishing her a speedy recovery."
First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford, wrote: "Concerned to hear the news from Buckingham Palace. I send my best wishes to Her Majesty and her family on behalf of the people of Wales," with former PM David Cameron, adding: "Deeply concerned by the news this afternoon from Buckingham Palace.
"I send my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family at this worrying time."
It wasn't just politicians pitching in to share their heartfelt worry however, with a number of journalists, religious figures and celebrities also taking to the platform with heavy hearts.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, said: "My prayers, and the prayers of people across the Church of England and the nation, are with Her Majesty The Queen today. May God’s presence strengthen and comfort Her Majesty, her family, and those who are caring for her at Balmoral."
Martin Lewis added: "Never thought I'd be interrupted in an interview about the health of the Queen. Wishing her well," while Piers Morgan shared a picture of Queen Elizabeth with a praying hands emoji.
Nigel Farage, commented: "Dreadful news from Buckingham Palace concerning the Queen’s health. The thoughts and prayers of the whole nation and huge numbers of people around the world are with her and her family at this time."
