Liz Truss: I really enjoy being Prime Minister

LIZ Truss has said she “really enjoys being Prime Minister” as she attempted to woo political journalists at the Conservative conference with “s*** wine” and fun facts about the wallpaper in Downing Street.

Amid humiliation for the Government following a U-turn over its tax cuts for the wealthiest, weeks of negative headlines and grim polling results, Truss is hoping to win some support amid members of the media.

But with Conservative-loyal titles like the Daily Mail now upset with her for failing to go through with the massive cuts, the PM has a big challenge ahead of her.

According to Politico, the Conservative chief invited about 30 political journalists to a small room in Birmingham’s International Convention Centre on Monday night.

According to one attendee those present were served “s*** wine”, and told that her ongoing feud with French leader Emmanuel Macron was “le banter”.

She also told them that there is no gold wallpaper in the Number 10 flat, despite reports to the contrary during Boris Johnson’s time in office.

Truss confidently told the media that she “really enjoys being PM” and gets more sleep than Thatcher.

She repeated her views on the role during broadcast interviews on Tuesday morning.

She told journalists in Birmingham, who asked if she was enjoying the job: “I am. It’s a challenging role, it’s a challenging time, but what I am focused on is delivering for the British people.”

Pressed on whether it is harder than she thought, Truss said: “I came in with very clear expectations that this was a tough time for our country, but I’m prepared to do what it takes to get us through these difficult times, to get us through this difficult winter and to come out stronger as a country.”

If one thing is clear, it’s that literally ONLY Truss is enjoying her time running the UK.
