Livingston v Celtic score predicted by simulation as Lions could hand Rangers title race boost

Celtic will be hoping for another win at the top of the Scottish Premiership when they face Livingston on Sunday afternoon.

After drawing 1-1 against Shakhtar Donetsk in their last outing, Celtic are now guaranteed to finish bottom of their Champions League group. The Hoops have produced a disappointing points total in the competition, but their attentions now return to the league on Sunday.

The Hoops currently sat four points clear of Rangers in second at the start of this weekend after their rivals drew against Sunday's opposition in their last league game. A win will see them keep more than a game's lead but Ange Postecoglou's side hasn't had the best luck against Livingston in recent years, Winning five of their last 12 games against David Martindale's side.

Callum McGregor is a guaranteed absentees for Celtic, whilst Carl Starfelt and Jota are set to return from their injury lay-offs. So, how could the Hoops perform against Livingston on Sunday?

We used FIFA 23 to try and predict the score, and this is what happened!

Livingston vs Celtic score predicted by simulation

We predict that the hosts could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: George; Devlin, Fitzwater, Obileye, Montano; Pittman, Holt, Kelly; Kelly, Nouble, Shinnie.

We predict that the Hoops could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Hart; Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Jenz, Taylor; Mooy, Turnbull, Hatate; Maeda, Giakoumakis, Abada.

Celtic started poorly, with some sloppy phases of play allowing the hosts to take control of the game. As the first half came to a close, Livingston took the lead, with Jack Fitzwater beating Joe Hart to a corner and heading into an empty net.

The Hoops didn't improve early in the second half, and Livingston doubled their lead to Celtic's shock, this time Stephen Kelly getting on the scoresheet as he broke into the box and fired through the legs of Hart. A big improvement was needed from Celtic, and they managed to restore hope when David Turnbull pulled a goal back.

Being deployed on the right, substitute Jota made an instant impact off the bench, skipping past his marker and drilling a cross into the box. The ball evaded Georgios Giakoumakis but fell to the feet of Turnbull, and the midfielder fizzed his shot into the net.

After pulling a goal back, Celtic started to dominate, with Shamal Geroge making some big saves to deny any comeback from the Hoops. But, with eight minutes to go, another substitute made an impact to level the scoring.

Kyogo Furuhashi made it 2-2 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

A poor clearance from Livingston saw Aaron Mooy pick up the ball in the hosts half and find the run of Kyogo Furuhashi with a great through ball. One-on-one with the 'keeper, Furuhashi found the bottom corner to make it 2-2.

Celtic continued pushing as they looked to complete the comeback, but it never came as they were forced to settle for a point on the road.
