Livingston forward Jack Hamilton expected to be fit for Premiership curtain-raiser

JACK HAMILTON is set to be fit for Livingston’s Premiership curtain-raiser against Rangers after a weekend injury scare.

The 22-year-old was a late replacement for Bruce Anderson in the starting line-up for Saturday’s friendly against Morton but lasted just 20 minutes before having to be substituted with an ankle problem.

The former Arbroath loanee, who signed a new two-year deal with Livi last week, left Almondvale in a protective boot amidst concerns over the severity of the injury.

But the Lions have breathed a sigh of relief after Hamilton was told there is no major damage in the joint and that he should he back fully fit inside a fortnight.

With new signing Esmael Gonalves only able to manage 50 minutes in the 3-0 defeat to Morton as he chases fitness, and Anderson trying to shake off a thigh issue, Livi could still be short of options for their Premier Sports Cup opener against Albion Rovers on Saturday.

Meanwhile, new signing Phillip Cancar has been cleared to face Albion after the club received international clearance for the Australian defender.
