Livingston FC share CCTV of youths who broke into Tony Macaroni Arena

Livingston FC has hit out at a group of teenagers who broke into their stadium at the weekend.

The club shared a series of CCTV images of the youngsters who gained entry to the Tony Macaroni Arena on Sunday evening at around 5pm.

The West Lothian team claim it is the fifth time youngsters have broken into the grounds in a number of weeks and passed footage over to the police.

They also called on those who know the children to “have a word” with them.

"The club is annoyed to report that yet again we have had a break in at the club from a group of teenagers over the weekend," Livingston FC said on Twitter.

"This has been the 5th time in as many weeks this has happened. We have reported the matter to the police and handed them all CCTV footage of those involved.

"We really don't want to be reporting kids to the police as the last thing we want is any of them getting charged or reported to the children's panel but we’ve been left with little choice."

The team added: "Please look at the footage and if you know the kids involved, have a word with as it’s starting to cost a lot of time & energy trying to stop this happening but for the sake of the kids involved it has to stop before they get hurt breaking in or have the police chapping their door.

"We are a community club and want to help and support the community but this is the last thing we want to be doing.

"So please, have a look and if you know the kids involved alert their parents and hopefully we can stop it that way rather than wasting police time."

CCTV pictures show youths wandering around inside the the building and outside across the pitch while filming themselves on their phones. They also try doors inside the arena.

In some of the still images shared by the team, the bold youngsters even make direct eye contact with security cameras monitoring the stadium's corridors.

The teenagers are not believed to have caused any serious damage while visiting the stadium.

Livingston FC declined to comment further after being contacted by a Record reporter.

Police Scotland said: "We are aware of recent reports of break-ins, vandalisms and youth antisocial behaviour around Almondvale Stadium in Livingston.

"Enquiries into these incidents are ongoing and we continue to work with the football club to address any ongoing issues.”
