Livingston lad James Penrice bagged the first top flight goals of his career - then heaped praise on the club's fans as they roared the Lions into fourth place in the Premiership table.
The 24-year-old netted his side's third in their 4-2 win over St Johnstone with a neat flick from close range before smashing home their fourth in the closing minutes after the Saints had fought back from three down with a quick-fire brace to make for some nervy moments.
The full-back admitted his side's second-half performance was far from vintage but insists European football could be a real possibility if they replicate the opening 45 minutes more often.
He commented: "I'm just glad we got the three points, that was the most important thing. I slid on the pitch to celebrate that second goal but I nearly took the skin off my knees.
"You can say there's not a lot of fans, but they are passionate. Especially when we come away, they are loud and they were brilliant. There is a connection with the fans, we are a sort of smaller club so it needs to be there. Hopefully they feel part of it and hopefully they are buzzing."
He added: "Bruce is telling me he found me, but he was shooting! I don't know what he was talking about so I told him to shut up.
"I'm buzzing because that was my first Premiership goal. The second one, there would've been a couple of unhappy boys if I hadn't have scored that, they were looking for a cross. But I'm glad I scored. That's two, I don't know what's going on. I'm a bit shocked.
"There's no reason why we can't push on, but we've just got to take it game by game and not get too ahead of ourselves. We'll take it game by game and see where we end up. There's no secret. We work for each other and do the basics well on the park.
"That's what has got us here, we'll take it game by game and hopefully we can pick up points. We want to finish as high as we can."
