Livingston boss David Martindale has confirmed his side’s interest in Inverness defender Robbie Deas.
Our sister paper, The Daily Record, revealed last week that the Lions were lining up a contract offer for the 23-year-old, who has just returned from a broken leg.
Deas, in his third season in the Highlands, could be seen as a potential replacement for outgoing centre-back Jack Fitzwater who is set to depart when his contract comes to an end this summer.
Speaking to the Courier, Martindale admitted they had made an enquiry but says the defender is much sought after, commenting: “It’s someone I’ve enquired about but there’s no definitive answer.
“I know there’s another four teams at least interested in Robbie and I know if it’s down to finances then he’s probably not coming to Livingston if I’m honest.
“I have spoken to Inverness and Robbie but there’s lots of interest in him. He’s one of a number of players I’ve got my eye on with a view to next year.”
