Livi's Bruce Anderson bags first goal first league goal after frustrating start

Bruce Anderson says nobody was more shocked than him to see Sean Kelly miss from the spot.

But he joking confessed that he’s hoping that now means it’s his turn for penalty duty.

The 24-year-old bagged his first league goal of what has been a frustrating campaign thus far due to injury when he pounced on a Joel Nouble cross late on.

The Lions would go on to lose 2-1 after Alex Grieve netted a 90th minute winner for St Mirren, leaving Anderson with mixed emotions.

He commented: “It was an angry dressing room. As a team we can defend so much better than that and the frustrations came out.

“To throw it away like that at the end is disappointing. I’d have sacrificed the goal to get three points but on a personal note it’s good to get off the mark.

“The goal’s dampened by the result and it’s important we pick ourselves up.”

He added: “Sean doesn’t miss in training. I was as shocked as anyone to see him put it over the bar.

“But hopefully that means I’m on penalties and I can get my tally up.”
