The Porsche 911 Dakar with the Rothman-inspired livery and the Volkswagen ID.Buzz have at least one thing in common—two-tone paint schemes. The Buzz’s retro styling and familiar lines make it the perfect candidate to wear the Dakar’s optional paint scheme, and one Porsche dealer in the Netherlands has done just that.
Porsche Classic Center Gelderland shared images of a wrapped Buzz alongside a Dakar on its Facebook page. The dark blue associated with the iconic Rothmans livery, which took Porsche 34 hours to complete on the Dakar, replaces the lower body color, while red and yellow stripes clearly outline the white top. The van also has a stripe extending down the middle.

Porsche has already finished building the 911 Dakar, so if you were hoping to recreate this cool-looking combination, you're currently out of luck. There's a rumor that Porsche is already developing an upgraded version of the off-road sports car that’ll allegedly feature the automaker’s new hybrid powertrain, though, so you can start saving for that now.
The Dakar wasn’t cheap, starting at $223,450. The optional Rallye Design Package that included the Rothman-inspired livery cost another $28,470, pushing the price tag to over the quarter-million mark. The ID.Buzz on sale now in America US, the 1st Edition, starts at just over $60,000.
It takes money to look good.
