Liverpool are without Diogo Jota for their Champions League clash with RB Leipzig today.
The striker lasted only half an hour in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Chelsea and manager Arne Slot confirmed after the game that he would be “surprised” to see the Portugal international fit for the game.
Jota subsequently missed training with this team-mates on Tuesday morning, and was among the first-team players not to make the trip to Germany.

Slot said at his press conference on Tuesday: “He [Jota] got a knock [on Sunday], like we all saw, when he was trying to go to goal, brought down. That was not the biggest problem but I think the other player fell onto him and that hurt him that much that he couldn’t continue to play and he couldn’t come with us for now.
“It’s difficult to judge at this moment of time to see how long that’s going to take. It’s bruised, so we have to see how long it is going to take.”
It was a blow for the Reds, who have won both of their European games thus far.
Slot also revealed that Trent Alexander-Arnold was a doubt for the Blues clash before the game, though he did ultimately make it.
Liverpool will certainly be without Alisson Becker and Harvey Elliott, while Conor Bradley and Federico Chiesa have also stayed at home.
Summer signing Chiesa has missed the last four games due to an unspecified injury.
