Liverpool XI vs Inter Milan: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Champions League game

Liverpool start both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for the club’s Champions League last-16 first-leg showdown with Inter Milan tonight.

The star duo line-up alongside Diogo Jota, with new signing Luis Diaz on the bench. He is eligible to play, despite featuring for Porto in the competition earlier this season.

Jota suffered a dead leg in training the day before the win at Turf Moor, meaning Sadio Mane was brought into the starting lineup upon his return from the Africa Cup of Nations, but he is fit enough to start at the San Siro.

Jordan Henderson is among the substitutes - the England midfielder was substituted during the second half of his team’s narrow win over Burnley on Sunday but Jurgen Klopp confirmed in the build-up to this game that he would be fit.

It’s Harvey Elliott who gets the nod to start in midfield alongside Fabinho and Thiago, as Jurgen Klopp puts a huge amount of faith in the 18-year-old.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Thiago, Elliott, Salah, Jota, Mane.

Subs: Kelleher, Milner, Keita, Firmino, Gomez, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Tsimikas, Diaz, Origi, Matip
