Liverpool XI vs Arsenal: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest today

Virgil van Dijk returns for Liverpool against Arsenal.

The defender missed Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea due to illness but has recovered and is available for the game at Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Andy Robertson are all expected to come back into the Liverpool team after starting on the bench against Chelsea.

Liverpool also have Thiago Alcantara available but Luis Diaz misses out.

“Virgil, completely normal, was back in training,” said Jurgen Klopp.

“Luis and Thiago training completely normal. The plan with Luis is that he will be available 100 per cent for Leeds. Again, it looks good, everything is fine, but it was a long, long injury and so we have to be careful. We will probably not involve him for Sunday.

“Thiago looks slightly different. He was not out that long, trained now three, four times with the team and might be available. But we have to check how he feels today.”

Naby Keita has missed the last two games with a muscle injury, while Stefan Bajcetic and Calvin Ramsay are long-term absentees.
