Liverpool were 'in the race' to sign midfield wonderkid before £12m 'snub'

Liverpool were understood to be 'actively in the race' to sign Norwegian wonderkid Andreas Schjelderup before the talented youngster opted to join Benfica in the summer.

Schjelderup has put clubs in Europe on red alert after scoring 10 goals in 17 games for Nordsjaelland so far this season.
