Wolves could be tempted into doing an early deal with Liverpool for the sale of Ruben Neves, according to a new report.
Liverpool's shortcomings in midfield were brutally exposed again on Saturday when they suffered a deserved 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp had claimed in his press conference before the match that it was highly unlikely that he would be making any further additions to his squad during the January transfer window. But Liverpool's Champions League qualification hopes are beginning to look less likely by the week and supporters are desperate to see some fresh blood in the centre of the park that can help get their season back on track.

And the Reds could be aided by Neves' reluctance to sign a new contract at Molineux. The Portugal international now only has 18 months left on his deal and although he was once valued as high as €70m, the nearer he gets to the end of his current terms, the more that price tag is reducing.
That's according to The Mirror, who believe Wolves could be tempted into doing a deal for their captain with Liverpool now, rather than risking losing him on a free in 18 months or getting a reduced fee in the summer.
The Reds have also been linked with Wolves' summer signing Matheus Nunes in recent weeks. But it was his compatriot Neves who impressed at Anfield last weekend during the sides' FA Cup third-round 2-2 draw and the Mirror state that the Reds are 'weighing' up a move amid expected summer interest from Newcastle United.
Klopp will get another chance to take a look at both players on Tuesday evening when Liverpool travel to Molineux for the FA Cup replay. The Reds will be looking for an immediate reaction after their dire showing against Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.
