Liverpool weather to turn frosty as temperatures drop to 1C

Those up early enough would have noticed a foggy and cold start this morning.

As temperatures continue to drop, the Met Office reports that mornings will become more frosty and foggy. Today, on Friday, September 23, it will be a bright day with just a few showers.

Forecasters say that despite sunny spells, it will remain cooler than average for this time of year. Overnight it will be dry and chilly with forecasters saying that a clear night will allow for frost in more rural areas.

Over the weekend there will be showers and a cool northerly breeze will see temperatures reach 16C. The outlook for next week is more sunny spells and showers, with it continuing to feel colder as the north-westerly winds hit.

Giving the outlook for the weekend, Met Office Senior Weather Forecaster Aidan McGivern explained: “Across the UK temperatures are going to be below average for the second half of the weekend and into Monday as well as Tuesday.

"As temperatures will drip to low single figures and below zero for some overnight it’ll be cold enough for a touch of frost and some snow showers.

“It's really going to be over the tops of the Scottish mountains and there's nothing particularly unusual about that at this time of year.”
