Liverpool weather forecast as sunny skies to return to region

We've had a fair few wet and windy days on Merseyside in recent weeks, but some sunshine is set to return to the region.

The UK was hit by Storms Malik and Corrie at the end of January, with harsh winds battering much of the country.

This was followed by a bout of cold weather in the north of England, with the Met Office warning of "wintry showers".

This week, however, we can expect mostly milder weather - with temperatures reaching up to 11C.

The Met Office said Monday will be "cold and frosty" to start, but mild by the afternoon.

Some outbreaks of light rain and drizzle can be expected during the morning.

We can expect highs of 11C on Monday.

Tuesday and Wednesday will feel "increasingly mild but remain largely cloudy" with some rain.

Thursday is when the sunshine will return - though it is also set to turn colder, with lows of 3C.

Friday is set to be dry and sunny, with highs of 7C, and we can expect similar weather on Saturday.
