Liverpool weather forecast as Met Office warns of rain and snow across the country

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for regions across the UK , predicting rain, strong winds and even snow.

Sunny spells and scattered showers are expected on Thursday before wet and windy weather arrives on Friday.

Rain is expected to become heavy and persistent, this is especially true for high ground exposed to the strong southwesterly wind.

There remains some uncertainty to the locations likely to see the highest rainfall totals.

This rain is expected to continue falling in similar areas for around 24 hours.

As such during this period 40-60 mm of rain is likely, with perhaps as much as 100 mm over higher ground.

But with temperatures set to dip as low as two degrees on Friday night, some of that rain may fall as sleet or snow on higher ground.

But Liverpool's weather forecast is deemed by the Met Office not to warrant a weather warning.

Whilst the weather will be unsettled for most of Saturday, we can expect temperatures to peak at 11C.

It may become drier and more settled again with some sunshine on Sunday.

The bright and sunny weather will continue over to Monday, October 28.
