Liverpool vs Wolves: Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results, odds today

Familiar foes Liverpool and Wolves meet again tonight for what feels like the umpteenth time in a rearranged Premier League contest.

Less than a month has passed since the inconsistent Reds went to Molineux and delivered one of the worst performances of the Jurgen Klopp era, suffering a truly woeful 3-0 defeat to relegation battlers that could and should have been far more emphatic.

The two sides also met in a pair of FA Cup ties in January, with Liverpool prevailing by narrow margins in a low-key replay after an entertaining four-goal draw on Merseyside that had plenty of controversy.

Now they square off again in top-flight action in a game that was originally due to be played in September, only to be postponed following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Liverpool had looked to have turned a corner after that dismal loss at the start of the month, easily seeing off both Everton and Newcastle before blowing a two-goal lead against Real Madrid in harrowing fashion in the Champions League and being held to a bore goalless draw by Crystal Palace.

Klopp’s men remain seventh in the table and nine points adrift of the top four after 23 matches.

Julen Lopetegui’s Wolves, meanwhile, followed up a crucial win in a six-pointer against Southampton with a poor home defeat by Bournemouth before claiming a point at Fulham to leave them 15th and three above the relegation zone.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Liverpool vs Wolves is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off tonight, Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

The match will take place at Anfield in Liverpool.

Liverpool vs Wolves prediction

There has been a real Jekyll and Hyde quality to Liverpool over recent weeks.

They played dismal Everton off the park in a one-sided Merseyside derby and took care of high-flying Newcastle with ease, while starting so well against Real Madrid before losing the plot completely and shipping five.

Saturday’s goalless draw at Palace was a real turgid affair packed full of errors that will have inspired little confidence that they have the ability to chase down that sizeable gap to the top four.

However, Wolves are also properly inconsistent and have won only twice on the road in the league all season. Home win.

Liverpool to win, 2-0.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Liverpool’s dismal loss at Molineux earlier in February was their first defeat by Wolves in the Premier League since 2010, with two FA Cup losses mixed in.
