The Reds were seconds away from opening up a nine point lead at the top of the table before James Tarkowski's dramatic injury time equaliser ensured the points were shared as the last-ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park descended into chaos after the full-time whistle.
That was Liverpool's much talked game in hand which means they start the weekend seven points clear of Arsenal and having played the same number of games.
