Liverpool Vs Manchester United WILL Go Ahead At Anfield

It’s been confirmed that Liverpool vs Manchester United WILL go ahead after heavy snowfall in the North West overnight.

The green light has been provided by the local council’s Safety Advisory Group who have deemed the huge Premier League fixture safe to play.

Naturally, doubts were cast on Sunday morning as large parts of Merseyside took the brunt of the snowy conditions that littered the UK.

However, supporters of both sides who intend on travelling to Anfield can now do so. Although, supporters have been encouraged to take extra care.

Ahead of today’s 4:30pm kick-off, we have the Liverpool vs Manchester United preview, prediction, team news and predicted lineups.

Liverpool Vs Manchester United Goes Ahead

Today’s fixture against Manchester United will go ahead as planned. Two safety meetings were held earlier to assess the weather and travel conditions.

We thank everyone involved in helping us to get this game on today. If you’re travelling to Anfield then please take extra care. We look forward to seeing you there,” Liverpool posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Manchester United posted the following on X: “Following a second safety meeting, it has been decided that today’s match between Manchester United and Liverpool will go ahead.

There have been snowfall and weather warnings across the North West on Sunday but it has been deemed safe for fans to attend the 16:30 GMT kick-off. Take care if you are travelling to Merseyside today, Reds.”

Manchester United’s Cold Anfield Form

The news will come as a huge relief to supporters, pundits and football fans all over the world. Considering that the two teams are considered the titans of English football.

Liverpool are flying high at the top of the league and are very much on course to win their second Premier League title. However, it’s doom and gloom for Manchester United at present.

The Red Devils have endured a torrid run of form going into the new year. Ruben Amorim’s side have lost their last four games across all competitions.

At the home of their bitter rivals, United haven’t won at Anfield since 2016. Furthermore, they haven’t even scored a league goal on the red half of Merseyside since 2018.

With the above in mind, the omen does not look good for Amorim and his side. Arne Slot will be quietly confident of picking up all three points as the Reds continue their march towards the title.

Ahead of the titanic clash, the best football betting sites in the UK make Slot’s side the 5/12 favourites. United can be backed at 15/2 with the draw available at 9/2.
