It is extremely difficult to make a case for Manchester United getting anything from their trip to Anfield on Tuesday night.
United are 13/2 with Betfred to pick up a most unlikely three points, one of the biggest prices they have been for a Premier League match since its inception in 1992.
But they are not just 13/2 (which equates to just a 13% chance) because of their own failings - for all that they eventually got over the line on Saturday.
Ralf Rangnick's side must find a way to combat one of the best sides in the world right now, a side that has not lost a Premier League in this calendar year and one that tore Man City apart at Wembley on Saturday.
Last weekend's 2-2 draw at the Etihad was the first Premier League in 2022 that Liverpool did not pick up maximum points. Jurgen Klopp's side are firing on all cylinders right now and the quadruple is still very much on.
Cristiano Ronaldo got United out of jail (not for the first time this season) with a hat-trick against bottom side Norwich City but it was yet another of countless examples this term of just how difficult United are finding it to win any game this season.
United, who have failed to win nine of their 15 Premier League away games this term, now travel to fortress Anfield, where Liverpool haven't lost a game all season. Visiting sides have managed just seven goals in the 15 Premier League matches at Anfield this term, which makes the Merseysiders by some distance the strongest defensive outfit on their own patch.
Barring a miracle, there isn't much hope for United here and they will do extremely well not to buckle under the intensity of the way Liverpool are playing.
Liverpool vs Manchester United prediction
Manchester United's recent record at Anfield is pretty tragic. They haven't won there since 2016 and have manage just a single goal in their last five visits.
If Liverpool are at it, and it's hard to find a reason why they won't be given Anfield is likely to be rocking, then they should win this game comfortably.
The hosts are 4/11 but we can boost that to 6/4 by backing the hosts to win to nil.
Recommended bet: Liverpool to win to nil at 6/4 with Betfred
