Liverpool vs Leicester City prediction and odds: Diogo Jota tipped to get revenge for Reds

Liverpool will be looking to keep their title race alive and getting revenge over a Leicester City side who have struggled to reach the levels they are capable of this season.

The Reds are 6/25 favourites with Grosvenor Sport while the Foxes are 21/2 and a draw is 11/2.

Jurgen Klopp's could be as far as 12 points behind Manchester City depending on how Pep Guardiola's side do at home to Brentford but could also be as close as six points behind the league leaders with a game-in-hand too after the match at Anfield.

The hosts go into this match with their league form going back in the right direction with back-to-back wins over Crystal Palace and Thomas Frank's side after suffering a three-match winless run where they only got two points from a possible nine.

In that run, it included the shock defeat away at the King Power Stadium to Brendan Rodgers' side where the former Premier League champions dominated the match from start to finish but failed to capitalise on their 21 attempts on goal.

But Leicester City are currently down and ready for the taking as the Foxes look to try and claw back some pride after a disappointing season which was made worse after being knocked out of the FA Cup 4-1 to Championship side and local rivals Nottingham Forest.

Going out in such a fashion has made Rodgers voice his frustration about his squad after a woeful attempt to defend their title as the cup holders and now face the task against a Liverpool side who are looking comfortable once more.

Player to watch

Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will be continuing their recovery after the African Cup of Nations so I am going to go for Diogo Jota to do the business in this match.

The Portuguese forward has scored 10 league goals so far this season but is currently going on his longest goal-drought having failed to find the net in his last four outings.

He will be keen to end that run, especially when the Reds are close to having a full squad again.

H2H

This will be the 118th meeting in all competitions and 104th league meeting between the two sides with Liverpool picking up 50 wins, 26 draws and 41 defeats overall.

In the league, Liverpool have picked up 45 wins, 21 draws and 37 defeats including the 1-0 losses at the King Power Stadium back in December when the Reds suffered their first back-to-back away losses in the league against Leicester since 2017.
