Liverpool vs Arsenal: Carabao Cup prediction, tickets, team news, live stream, TV channel, H2H betting preview

Liverpool and Arsenal meet at Anfield on Wednesday night in a high-profile Carabao Cup clash for a place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds are heading into the cup tie on a wave of optimism, leading the Premier League table by six points following Sunday's 2-1 comeback win over Tottenham on Merseyside.

In contrast, Arsenal are in crisis after this weekend's action as they let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 at home with Crystal Palace - but the scoreline only tells half the story.

As of Monday morning, the club were considering stripping Granit Xhaka of the captaincy after his extraordinary show of dissent towards home fans at the Emirates, while Unai Emery is under increasing pressure from supporters.

While the Carabao Cup is not necessarily a key target for either club, there is no doubt that Emery needs a result at Anfield - and the last thing Klopp wants is a home cup exit to dent his team's momentum.

Liverpool vs Arsenal
Venue: Anfield
Kick-off time: 7:30pm, Wednesday October 30

Liverpool team news and injuries

Mohamed Salah is unlikely to be risked after coming off against Spurs with an ankle injury.

Virgil van Dijk suffered a dead leg on Sunday and could be rested, while Joel Matip faces a race to return from a knee injury.

Xherdan Shaqiri and Nathaniel Clyne remain out

Liverpool (4-3-3): Kelleher; Williams, Van den Berg, Gomez, Milner; Lallana, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Brewster, Origi, Jones

Arsenal team news and injuries

One saving grace of the Xhaka saga is that Emery has the perfect opportunity to rotate his squad for this cup tie.

Xhaka has been dropped, with the likes of Joe Willock set to feature.

Emery should revert to something resembling a Europa League lineup, though Kieran Tierney appears to have taken the first-choice slot at left-back already.

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka will expect starts in attack, but Emery will have to balance giving minutes to squad members against facing the country's in-form side.

Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Martinez; Bellerin, Holding, Mustafi, Kolasinac; Willock, Torreira; Maitland-Niles, Smith Rowe, Saka; Martinelli

Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Arsenal

The Gunners have a point to prove at Anfield, but this Liverpool squad have that priceless quality of knowing how to win.

It is not outlandish to see Arsenal leaving Merseyside with a victory - particularly given that these matches go straight to a penalty shootout after 90 minutes - but Klopp has second-string players ready and waiting to prove themselves.
