A well known undertakers has closed the doors of its two city branches.
The Hardacres offices on Jason Street in Kirkdale and on Cherry Lane in Clubmoor have both closed, prompting members of the public to contact the ECHO. Owners Dignity Funerals confirmed the closures to the ECHO.
A spokesman for Dignity Funerals said Hardacres customers had been contacted by colleagues from their sister business Thompsons. Steel shutters were down at the Jason Street outlet this morning. A notice on the door of the former branch reads: "This branch is now closed for immediate attention please contact us on 0151 933 0202."

A local man who asked not be named said: "It's such a shame and so strange. Hardacres buried generations across the city."
Hardacres, which was a family owned business, was bought out by Dignity Funerals more than a decade ago. The Hardacre family were from north Liverpool and their business was well respected in the community.
A spokesperson for Dignity Funerals, the owners of Hardacres, said: “We have taken the decision to close our Hardacres premises in Kirkdale and Clubmoor. All clients have been informed and our colleagues are working with them to provide their funeral arrangements with the same high standard and care at Thompson’s, another Dignity funeral directors in Liverpool.
"We will be contacting anyone that holds a Dignity funeral plan with Hardacres to give them the option of transferring it to Thompsons."
