Liverpool tunnel cam captures two moments showing what Man Utd win meant to Thiago

Thiago ran the show in Liverpool 's win over Manchester United and was full of affection for his teammates following the Anfield masterclass.

The Reds hammered their arch rivals, taking the lead within five minutes as their title charges continued on Merseyside.

Thiago was instrumental in the win, which completed a memorable double over a below par United. The Spaniard moved from Bayern Munich last summer and enjoyed arguably his best game for the club.

He came off late on and received a standing ovation from the Anfield crowd following his display. Footage has now shown the midfielder waiting for Andy Robertson, whom he shook hands with before embracing for a hug as they rejoiced in the win.

Thiago has also been shown walking through the Anfield tunnel before hugging Mo Salah, who scored a goal in each half for the hosts. The 31-year-old has struggled with injuries since moving to Anfield but has begun to find some consistency as he establishes himself in the Reds midfield.

Jurgen Klopp hoped Thiago would now stay fit, insisting there are few players who possess his quality in the game. “He’s a good player. We have to keep him fit,” he told the BBC. “He has rhythm now, which helps with these kind of situations to really be in the right spaces, the right little turns, finding the right passes.

"You don’t have five million players like this on the planet – only a few who see things earlier than anyone else and have the technical ability to not only see it but get the ball there as well. It was a top game from him.”

Thiago told Sky Sports on his own performance: "It was one of the strongest performances we've had here at Anfield, the first-half was unbelievable. Also the second, we were at a high level for 90 minutes." He also praised the Reds' front three, who continue to produce.

Gary Neville claimed the Reds "toyed" with his former side and the Spaniard was central to their success as he continued to pull the strings in midfield. “What Liverpool have done tonight is toyed with Manchester United,” Neville said on the Gary Neville Podcast .

“Thiago was laughing when he came off, he was laughing at them all game. I don’t normally swear on the Gary Neville Podcast, but he took the f**king p*ss out of Manchester United tonight. That was so simple for the Liverpool players.”
