Liverpool transfers: Khephren Thuram 'wants' move as Gabri Veiga offer 'increased'

The transfer window is not even officially open yet but Liverpool have already confirmed their first signing of the summer in the shape of World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister.

But rest assured, the capture of the Brighton & Hove Albion and Argentina midfielder will not be the omly addition that Jurgen Klopp makes to his squad during the close season. Klopp is looking to make further signings - particularly in the centre of the park - as he looks to get the Reds back challenging for honours next season.

A number of names continue to be linked with a move to Merseyside. From Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram, and Ryan Gravenberch to Gabri Veiga, the gossip columns are overflowing with Liverpool transfer rumours.

We will keep you on top of the best of them in our dedicated live blog. You can view today's blog by clicking HERE.

But here is a round-up of the latest Reds' rumours doing the rounds...

Liverpool want Khephren Thuram - and he's keen

talkSPORT understands that Liverpool want to make Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram their second signing of the summer.

And the report adds that Thuram, the son of France legend Lillian and younger brother of current France star Marcus, "is keen to make the move to Anfield".

talkSPORT also state that the Reds are interested in Thuram's France Under-21 international team-mate Manu Kone, from Borussia Monchengladbach. The pair were recently spotted together.

Liverpool ups contract offer to Gabri Veiga

SPORT in Spain have been busy reporting on the transfer chase for Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga, saying the battle for the Spain Under-21 international "is at its peak."

They state that the rising star will only leave Celta if if his €40m release clause is activated - and that Liverpool are not only willing to pay that fee, but that they have "also significantly raised the contractual conditions offered to the footballer."

But they add that while that gives the Reds "a certain advantage over the rest of the rivals" - which include Newcastle United and Real Madrid - they are not close to a pre-agreement.

Ron-Robert Zieler seems to rule out switch

Liverpool could be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper if Caoimhin Kelleher decides to move on.

And one shot-stopper who has been linked with the Reds is Germany international Ron-Robert Zieler. Part of the appeal would be that the 34-year-old would count as a homegrown player having started his senior career at Manchester United.

But it appears Zieler, who is well known to new Liverpool sporting director Jorg Schmadtke, could be staying in Germany with Hannover, where he is captain. “I’m assuming that I’ll wear the Hannover jersey again in the new season,” Zieler told BILD.
