Liverpool’s pre-season is officially underway after the Reds flew out to Thailand over the weekend to embark on their summer training camp, with new signings Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho involved and ready to have their first taste of action for the club.
But off the pitch, there are also plenty of developments underway, and the Reds said goodbye to Neco Williams on Monday after the right back agreed to join Nottingham Forest. Elsewhere, the Reds have ‘rejected’ any advances for one of their midfielders, while there has been further clarity on Jude Bellingham next summer.
Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of Anfield…
Bellingham remains ‘serious option’
Borussia Dortmund have made it clear that Jude Bellingham is not for sale this summer after the Bundesliga side lost Erling Haaland to Manchester City, but Liverpool remain strongly linked with a move for the England international, with a transfer expected next summer.
And according to The Athletic, Bellingham is now considered as a ‘serious option’ for Jurgen Klopp in 2023, as he looks to sign a genuine world class midfielder to bolster his ranks in that position, having opted to stick with his current options for this season.
The Reds currently boast Fabinho, Thiago, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Harvey Elliott for the midfield positions, while Fabio Carvalho has also joined this summer and can operate in that area of the field.

Reds reject all bids for midfielder
While Liverpool may not be looking to sign any midfielders this summer, they are also keen to avoid any departures and that has rung true in a report from The Times, who claim that the Reds have rejected all bids for youngster Harvey Elliott.
The 19-year-old has been the subject of a number of loan offers but Jurgen Klopp remains keen on keeping him in and around the first team this summer. Some of the clubs in question are fellow top flight opposition, but Elliott is set to remain put at Anfield.
The midfielder did enjoy a successful loan spell at Championship side Blackburn Rovers in 2020/21, in which he grabbed seven goals and 11 assists in 43 games in all competitions, before returning to Liverpool last season.
Liverpool watch ‘next Tchouameni’
Liverpool were strongly linked with AS Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni this summer before he opted to move to Real Madrid instead, but now the Reds are being tipped to sign a player who has been labelled as the next version of the Frenchman.
That’s according to Get French Football News, who report that Lille’s Amadou Onana is of interest to the Reds and has been labelled as the ‘next Tchouameni’ for his performances from midfield in Ligue 1 last season.
And according to the report, the Reds are expected to ‘watch’ the 20-year-old, who has already been capped by Belgium and made 41 appearances in all competitions last season, recording three goals and one assist in the process.
