Liverpool transfer round-up: Jude Bellingham ‘keen’ on move as Reds dealt contract blow

Liverpool may be in full preparation for Sunday’s Dubai Super Cup clash with Lyon but plenty of other developments are happening off the pitch ahead of the January transfer window.

The Reds continue to be strongly linked with a move for England and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham and the latest reports would suggest they have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of the 19-year-old. Elsewhere, Roberto Firmino could be about to sign a new contract, while the Reds have received a setback in another Bundesliga target.

Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of Anfield…

Bellingham ‘keen’ on move

Following reports that Bellingham’s family would prefer the 19-year-old to move to Anfield in the summer, it has now been said the midfielder also reportedly favours a switch to Liverpool over Real Madrid.

The youngster has starred for England at the World Cup and is gaining more attention from other clubs in Europe by the minute, but it may appear that he has already made his mind up on where he wants to play next.

According to a report from Sport Bild, Bellingham is keen on joining Liverpool when he leaves Borussia Dortmund, despite interest from the likes of Real Madrid, in what comes as a huge boost for Klopp and the Reds ahead of next summer.

Will Jude Bellingham end up at Liverpool next summer? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Reds table new deal for Firmino

Liverpool could be about to extend Firmino’s stay at Anfield following reports they have tabled a fresh deal for the Brazilian.

Firmino was linked with an exit from Merseyside during the summer following the arrival of Darwin Nunez, but his impressive start to the season could be about to reward him with the chance to extend his seven-year stay with the club.

That’s according to Football Insider, who state that negotiations between the club and player have intensified as Klopp remains keen to keep him beyond the end of his current deal which runs out at the end of the season.

Reds dealt Musiala setback

Liverpool have been linked with Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala but now face a tough task in signing the German wonderkid next summer.

The talented youngster has set the Bundesliga alight this season with some impressive performances, which has in turn attracted the attention of a number of clubs across Europe - including the Reds.

However, as a result of that interest, BILD have now reported that the Bavarian giants are prepared to offer Musiala a new contract in order to commit his long-term future to the club, which would all but end any hope of Liverpool making a move for the Germany international.
