Liverpool transfer round-up: Darwin Nunez jetting in as Sadio Mane exit endorsed

Liverpool's move for Darwin Nunez is edging closer as they prepare to part with a club-record fee.

The Uruguayan forward is among the hottest properties in Europe currently after a stellar season with Benfica and the Reds look set to win the race for his signature. An agreement that will exceed the £80m mark is poised to take the forward to Anfield.

But whilst a major start could be arriving one could also be departing as Sadio Mane considers his own future. The Senegal star has just 12 months left on his deal and may look to take on a new challenge with Bayern Munich heavily linked with the forward.

These are the latest transfer rumours from Anfield.

Nunez jetting into Liverpool

Nunez is edging closer to a Liverpool switch and a possible flight chartering him to Merseyside has been scheduled for Monday morning, according to hopeful Reds fans.

The Benfica forward smashed the 30-goal barrier last term, putting himself firmly on the radar of Europe's elite. Liverpool look to have won the race for his signature after an agreement was reached with the Portuguese outfit. Nunez, currently in Almeria, needs to jet to Liverpool to finalise aspects of his deal.

And a potential route looks to have been cleared for tomorrow as fans have noticed a private flight has been scheduled going from Almeria to Chester at 10.28am on Monday.

Mane advised to make Bayern move

Senegal boss Aliou Cisse has urged Mane to seal a transfer to Bayern Munich ahead of the World Cup. He told Source A via Senego: "And it's not just Sadio, and I'm going to talk about it for all those players who are in a situation where they have to find a club, it's complicated. Why? Because it is all this problem that awaits us for the World Cup which is in November.

"And I tell my boys to try to settle the contract problems so that when their respective championships resume, they will have already found a base. I heard about Sadio at Bayern. For me it is a club that is of standing.

"Bayern is intensity, pressure football with a German coach. Sadio played in Salzburg in Austria which is a border country, and that means he is not going into unknown territory. For me, the club where he will feel the best is Bayern."

Bayern consider other options

Mane's potential move to Bayern Munich could be dead as the Bundesliga club considers alternatives after having several bids for the forward rejected.

Club chief Hasan Salihamidžić has hinted though that the Bavarians may consider other options. He said: "Generally speaking, we're trying to strengthen our team. We're working on several options in attack. The transfer market is not easy, it always depends on the financial possibilities of the club. I don't want to talk about players of other clubs." He also added: "Of course, we can't rely on one option to strengthen our attack. We must have several options."
