Liverpool have put last season’s quadruple heartbreak behind them and are looking ahead to winning more trophies in the upcoming 2022/23 season following their return to pre-season, as preparations get underway.
New signings Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvalho have already linked up with the squad, while Darwin Nunez is expected to join this weekend, but there could still be another addition before the new season. According to reports, Liverpool have expressed an interest in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko, although Neco Williams could be set to leave as Nottingham Forest close in.

Liverpool ‘interested’ in Sesko
Liverpool may have already signed Darwin Nunez in order to plug the gap for a striker this summer, but that hasn’t stopped the Reds from looking at further potential options ahead of next season as they look to remain competitive with the likes of Manchester City.
According to Fichajes, Liverpool are one of a host of clubs who are showing an interest in signing Benjamin Sesko in the near future, with the report stating that the 19-year-old has impressed several clubs from across Europe, including the Reds and Real Madrid.
Sesko registered 10 goals and seven assists in 36 games in all competitions for Red Bull Salzburg last season, following on from 29 goals the previous campaign while on loan at Austrian second division side FC Liefering.

Nottingham Forest ‘hopeful’ of Williams signing
Neco Williams may be included in Liverpool’s squad when they jet off for their pre-season tour of Thailand this weekend, but his future is still trying to be resolved by the club as he seems destined for a move away from Anfield this summer.
Fulham were thought to be the favourites to snap up the young Welshman, but it is now fellow Premier League new-boys Nottingham Forest who are trying to tie up a deal for the right back, with the club now ‘hopeful’ of completing a move.
That’s according to The Athletic, who say that Forest are working on a deal to sign Williams and hope to have an agreement in place by the weekend. The Championship play-off final winners have already had a bid rejected by the Reds, but now it is thought that they have succeeded in further attempts.
Wijnaldum enters ‘swap-deal’ race
Former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum had endured a tough first campaign with Paris Saint-Germain following his exit from the Reds last summer, upon the expiry of his contract, and has already been linked with a move away from the club just 12 months on.
Liverpool have already been linked with a swap-deal involving Naby Keita for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, but now they could be beaten to his signature by PSG and Wijnaldum, as the French champions aim to bring back their former player.
According to Italian publication Calcio Mercato Web, the Netherlands international could be subject to a swap deal with Juventus, as he goes in search of an early exit from the French capital this summer. Wijnaldum has also been linked with a return to Anfield.
