Liverpool have been told that two players will be “licking their lips” over the prospect of playing alongside Darwin Nunez.
The Reds completed a deal worth up to £85million with Benfica for the striker last month. He was handed the No.27 shirt, which was vacated after Divock Origi departed for AC Milan.
Nunez is currently with the Liverpool squad in Thailand for their pre-season tour of the Far East. In one of his first sessions, the 23-year-old appeared to have discomfort in his foot but it was not thought to be anything serious.

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has spoken about what fans will think of Nunez. The ex-left-back went on to say why he reckons Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will enjoy playing alongside the Uruguayan.
“I really believe he is someone that people are really, really going to love. I think he’s going to give us that proper number nine role that we didn’t have for years,” Enrique told LFCTV.
“With Firmino, he’s the number nine but comes as a number 10, a false nine. He benefited a lot from Mane and Salah.
“But this guy, Trent and Robertson, they are licking their lips saying ‘oh my god, we have a proper player to put the crosses in.’
“I’m really excited, I’m not sure if he’ll settle straight away, I hope he does but I’m telling you this guy is the future of Liverpool.”
