Liverpool to 'accelerate' Aurelien Tchouameni transfer as Jude Bellingham decision made

Only one game remains in Liverpool's 2021/22 season as the build-up continues to the Champions League final this weekend.

The Reds have enjoyed a hugely successful campaign and have the opportunity to end it on a high in Paris on Saturday night when taking on Real Madrid at the Stade de France. Jurgen Klopp’s side are still on course for a remarkable treble after winning both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup earlier this season.

Despite the extremely fruitful season it has already been, work continues to take place in the background as Liverpool prepare for their summer transfer business.

And here we round up the latest Reds transfer gossip.

Who?

Aurelien Tchouameni

Where?

Foot Mercato

What?

Reports emerged earlier this week that Aurelien Tchouameni has chosen to join Real Madrid. However, Liverpool haven’t given up hope yet, according to Foot Mercato.

Los Blancos have always been seen as favourites for the Frenchman’s signature - and this has only been heightened after they were snubbed by Kylian Mbappe. The ECHO also reported last week that Tchouameni’s agent had informed Liverpool of his intention to join the Spanish champions.

However, Foot Mercato are claiming that despite the 22-year-old preferring Madrid and supposedly agreeing personal terms, Monaco are yet to agree a price transfer fee with Carlo Ancelotti's side. And the report states the Reds will ‘accelerate’ their plans to sign one of the best young talents in Europe after the Champions League final. But, with Paris Saint-Germain also said to be interested, it could spark a bidding war.

Who?

Jude Bellingham

Where?

Fabrizio Romano

What?

Liverpool will not be signing Jude Bellingham this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. However, they are expected to be part of the battle for his signature next summer.

The ECHO understands that Bellingham is a player the Reds do admire. However, any possible move was always likely to come in 2023 because of the World Cup later this year and due to Erling Haaland's £51m switch from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City.

This has been confirmed by football journalist Romano. “There is no chance for Jude Bellingham to leave Borussia Dortmund before summer 2023,” he told Caught Offside. “The player made this decision together with the club in a meeting in February, he will stay at Borussia for another year. Liverpool are certainly interested for next summer – his talent and personality make him look like the perfect fit for a Jurgen Klopp team – but there is absolutely no definite deal because so many clubs want Jude and it will be an open race.”

Who?

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Where?

The Mirror

What?

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been put up for sale by Liverpool, according to The Mirror.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has barely featured during the second half of the season and the ECHO's sister paper is reporting that Aston Villa and West Ham United have emerged as front-runners for the England international.

Liverpool are expected to ask for more than £10m for Oxlade-Chamberlain as the former Southampton youngster looks to get his career back on track.
