Liverpool team news for AC Milan Dubai Super Cup clash confirmed as Darwin Nunez returns

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain starts for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp makes just one change to the side that played the first 45 minutes against Lyon on Sunday.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is named in the front three alongside Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah as Darwin Nunez is left on the substitutes' bench to begin with following his return to team training on Monday.

The striker hasn't played since Uruguay's final group game of the World Cup two weeks ago but will feature against the seven-time European champions at the Al Maktoum Stadium this evening.

It means Joel Matip is given another chance to build on his recovery from injury as he aims for his first competitive minutes since October after the World Cup concludes this weekend.

Alongside Matip is Joe Gomez with James Milner and Andy Robertson starting at left and right-back, respectively. Thiago Alcantara, Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic make up the midfield with Naby Keita expected to play some part after his own comeback in the 3-1 loss to Lyon last week.

Liverpool: Kelleher; Milner, Matip, Gomez, Robertson; Bajcetic, Thiago, Elliott; Salah, Firminio, Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Subs : Adrian, Keita, Tsimikas, Nunez, Carvalho, Clark, Phillips, Doak, Cain, Quansah, Corness, Chambers, Frauendorf.
