Liverpool star Sadio Mane jokes he would pick transfer to Marseille over Bayern Munich or Real Madrid

Sadio Mane joked he would pick a move to Marseille over a potential transfer to Bayern Munich or Real Madrid should he leave Liverpool this summer.

Reports on Sunday suggested Bayern had seen an offer worth up to £25million rejected by Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Senegal forward has been heavily linked with an exit and suggested he would follow the wishes of fans in his homeland, with up to 70 per cent of them reportedly believing he should leave Anfield.

While the 30-year-old has sinced stressed he was joking and suggested he would no longer discuss his future in public, Mane joked about a move to Marseille after scoring a hat-trick against Benin.

That haul took his total up to 32 for Senegal and saw him overtake Henri Camara as the country’s most prolific player in history.

When interviewed in the mixed zone after the game, Mane joked: “You know, you’ve got me in trouble with the Liverpool fans right now.

“Those two teams are not bad. But I’m not a fan of those teams. You know, my team is Marseille, so I would say Marseille.”
