Liverpool star Luis Diaz leads celebrations at wedding party after Colombia homecoming

Liverpool star Luis Diaz lets his hair down with some crazy dancing on stage at his parents’ wedding party.

The 25-year-old striker led the celebrations by strutting his stuff in front of musicians hired to perform live at the bash. At one point a friend appeared to take a bottle of beer out of his left hand so nothing would get in the way of Luis’ memorable performance.

The dad-of-one enjoyed some downtime after a fantastic first season at Anfield after acting as ‘bridesman’ to his mum Cilenis Marulanda for her wedding to his dad Luis Manuel ‘Mane’ Diaz. The couple decided to formalise their relationship after nearly 30 years and four children on Saturday at a church in the footballer’s native town of Barrancas in La Guajira, Colombia. Luis posed for photos and signed autographs for fans as he waited outside the church.

The wedding bash took place afterwards in the nearby Iparu Hotel, with local artist Jamir Ospino performing along with a group called La Banda del Cinco. Diaz’s wife Geraldine Ponce posted footage on her Instagram of him dancing before his on-stage display which was recorded for posterity by another relative.

The former Porto star has impressed massively since moving to Liverpool in January. His crowning moment so far has been his man-of-the-match performance at Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg.

He came off the bench and helped his team go from 2-0 down at halftime to win the game 3-2. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has described him as a “top-class player” and said his love for the game is obvious because he can’t stop smiling in training.

He has earned over 30 caps for his country since making his international debut in 2018 and was awarded the Golden Boot as joint top goalscorer at the 2021 Copa America alongside Argentina’s Lionel Messi.
