Liverpool star Luis Diaz jets off on holiday ahead of international break

Liverpool star Luis Diaz has jetted off to New York with his family for some much needed down time ahead of the international break.

The Reds are not in action this weekend after the Premier League confirmed their game against Chelsea is one of three games not going ahead. The remaining seven games will take place as normal as football returns after it was halted briefly last week following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Limitations to police resources ahead of the Queen's funeral on Monday resulted in the further postponements, but has handed the Liverpool squad some time off before a number of them head off for international duty. Diaz is among the players to be called up by his respective national team as Colombia are due to take on Mexico and Guatemala at the end of the month.

The winger's girlfriend Gera Ponce shared a series of snaps on Instagram on Friday of the couple in New York with their daughter. This comes just days after Diaz starred in Liverpool's 2-1 Champions League victory over Ajax at Anfield.

The 25-year-old has been a key player for Jurgen Klopp so far this season after an impressive start to life on Merseyside following his arrival in January earlier this year. Diaz came to Liverpool from Porto earlier this year and has quickly established himself in the startling line-up.

He's featured in every single one of Liverpool's matches so far this campaign and has single-handedly produced some match defining moments. A moment of brilliance against Crystal Palace in the first home game of the season earned the Reds a much-needed 1-1 draw and he also netted twice in the 9-0 win over Bournemouth at the end of last month.
