Liverpool Star Curtis Jones Reveals Message From Jurgen Klopp

Curtis Jones has revealed that he received a message from former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool moved seven points clear at the top of the Premier League on Boxing Day with a 3-1 victory against Leicester.

The England international put Liverpool ahead early in the second-half as they came from behind to beat the Foxes.

There was a message waiting for Jones when he got back to the Liverpool dressing room after the game.

Jurgen Klopp’s Message For Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones was unaware that he reached a landmark number with his appearance for Liverpool against Leicester.

That was until former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp sent Jones a message to tell him that it was his 100th Premier League appearance.

“It was Jurgen!” smiled Jones in his post-match interview when asked who he received the text from.

“I just came in then, we had a talk with the team and I just went on the phone.

“I normally text family and stuff and I saw a text from Klopp, he said ‘congrats on 100 games and here’s to 500 more’ or something like that.

“I was like what’s he on about, 100? I’m on more than that! But I just checked the Instagram and 100 games, yeah. Proud, really proud.

“He’s [Klopp] on Instagram so he gets to see it. But that’s what he’s like, he’s still in touch with the whole team.

“He’s a great man and he’s still loved by us. It was him who set up the team we’ve got now, the foundation was there already and Slot’s just carried it on.”

Liverpool Pulling Away In Title Race

It has been a Christmas to celebrate for Liverpool who hold a healthy lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Arne Slot has had an impressive start to life as Liverpool manager since replacing Jurgen Klopp in the summer.

The Reds are seven points clear at the top ahead of Chelsea with a game in hand over their rivals.

Liverpool are also top of the Champions League table and through to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

The Reds will hope to build on their lead when they face West Ham on Sunday evening.
