Liverpool have typically had quiet January transfer windows under Jurgen Klopp.
So it was a shock for a lot of supporters when the Reds splashed the cash to bring Luis Diaz in from Porto, with the deal potentially worth £49 million.
At one stage, Diaz looked set to be followed by Fulham's Fabio Carvalho, as Liverpool had agreed a fee for the youngster. Carvalho was poised to head back to the capital on loan for the remainder of the term, but the deal collapsed at the last minute.
There were also a number of loan outgoings for Liverpool, with Nathaniel Phillips joining Championship outfit Bournemouth and Neco Williams heading to Fulham.

Vitezslav Jaros and Liam Hughes made temporary transfers to Notts County and Stalybridge Celtic on loan respectively. Morgan Boyes and Tony Gallacher also left the club after being released, with the former picked up by Livingston and the latter by St Johnstone.
