Liverpool should consider straight swap for Sadio Mane amid transfer exit rumours

It looks like Sadio Mane is set to leave Anfield this summer. It's come at the wrong time hasn't it? He's been great for us. There's not much you can do if a player wants to go in this day and age. Liverpool could keep him for another year and then his contract runs out, that could happen with Salah as well.

All I can say is you've got to trust the manager because this has happened to us before. Suarez left, Coutinho left. Some fantastic players, but we've always got better. Even Sterling, we let him go and we got better. I don't know who's out there to replace him if Sadio does go, but I'm sure Jurgen will have a replacement in mind if he has his heart set on going.

You've got to make sure you get the right money. It's not as if Bayern are skint. I wouldn't mind getting Lewandowski in a straight exchange for a couple of years. I think we need a striker. We don't know what's going to happen with Minamino and Origi is leaving. I'd say two forwards. I don't know what the plan is with Fabio Carvalho, but he's only a young lad. If he takes the Premier League by storm, we'll have to wait and see. If Mane goes then I think we need two, and top notch ones whoever they are. Son is the type of player that Liverpool would get. He's had a tremendous season and if he stays loyal to Tottenham then good luck to him.

Government must intervene after Paris chaos

Liverpool's defeat at the hands of Real Madrid was a brutal end to what has been a fantastic season. When it comes to football, the stats show everything but stats don't win you games.

The Reds actually hit the target on enough occasions to win the game, but Madrid's goalkeeper was in such good form and made two fantastic saves in particular. They did a job on us. For Liverpool, it's a heart breaking end to the season. They've won two cups when going for four.

However, the occasion was tainted by what happened outside. I played in the Hillsborough game and went to 11 funerals in a week. That was absolutely disgraceful, disgusting. One good thing nowadays is that smartphones capture everything. I think the Government should get involved. I'm not into politics, but it has to be sorted out one way or another. The club won't let it go and they'll stick up for the fans until the truth is out there.

Homecoming showed what Liverpool is all about

The parade showed what Liverpool fans are all about - amazing. I reckon the players were thinking hardly anyone would be turning up after not winning the Premier League or Champions League, but Liverpool fans aren't like that. They'll travel from all over to show their respect to this team and the manager and the whole world has seen that.

There was as many there on Sunday as there would have been if we'd won it. The fans don't forget about the enjoyment we've had this season. It was a party on Sunday, they even had Calvin Harris on board. The team is class, the manager is class and the supporters are class - the world saw that.
