Harry Redknapp has urged Liverpool to consider making a summer swoop for Real Madrid star Luka Modric.
The midfielder has won five Champions League trophies and three Spanish league titles since joining Real from Tottenham 11 years ago. However, the 37-year-old, who is out of contract this summer, has not yet held talks over extending his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Karim Benzema scored in the 78th minute with Vinicius Junior providing the assist as holders Real overcame last year's beaten finalists Liverpool 6-2 on aggregate to qualify for the quarter-fianls of the Champions League on Wednesday night.

But a lot of the talk post-match was about Modric’s performance, and Redknapp, who managed the Croatia international at Spurs, believes his former midfielder could prove to be a major coup for a host of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.
Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “What a player! Do you know you used to come in in the mornings and you’d have a piggy for piggy in the middle, after four years I said, ‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen you go in the middle’.
“He never gave it away, what a great lad. I tell you what, is he out of contract at the end of the year?
“I think they’re discussing whether they’re going to give him another deal. He’s 37, and I tell you what, you’d take him. Even if you were Liverpool, you’d take him back at Tottenham.
“He’d come in and he’s so great around the place, and he plays every minute of every game, and he’s still a fantastic player. I loved him, he’s low maintenance, just lives for football.”
