Liverpool are closing in on their first piece of transfer business for the summer window, with the signing of Alexis Mac Allister soon expected to be confirmed.

The Argentine midfielder is set to arrive at Anfield on the back of a highly-impressive season at Brighton and will be looking to maintain such form when performing in Jurgen Klopp’s side next term.

Away from Anfield, some of the Reds’ rivals are also beginning to strengthen their squads as high-profile names begin to plot their next steps.

Below, we take a closer look at the transfer activity of other sides that will be of interest to Liverpool.

Real Madrid

Jude Bellingham is Real Madrid-bound, bringing to an end months of speculation regarding the future of the teenager.

The England international will join the Spanish giants for a fixed transfer fee worth €103 million (£88.5m), a figure which could rise to €133.9m euros (£115m) in add-ons.

Liverpool were strong admirers of Bellingham, though decided to pull out of the race for the 19-year-old at the start of April.

Chelsea

Chelsea are set to lose N'Golo Kante as he edges closer to a transfer to Al-Ittihad, according to Football.London.

The France midfielder has been one of the most important players at Stamford Bridge in recent seasons following his move from Leicester City. His contract expires at the end of the month and while the Londoners were keen on extending his time in west London, it now appears he has made his mind up.

It has been claimed that Kante has agreed a deal with the Saudi Arabian outfit which will see him join up with fellow countryman Karim Benzema after the Ballon d'Or holder penned an eye-watering deal in the Middle East.

Arsenal

Mikel Arteta is reportedly looking to reunite with another former Manchester City defender as Sky Sports have reported that they have opened talks with Joao Cancelo over a move.

The Portuguese defender was sent out on loan to Bayern Munich for the second half of the campaign after falling out of favour with Pep Guardiola at the Citizens. It has been suggested that the Gunners have opened talks but there remains a "gap in valuation" between both clubs.

Cancelo is believed to be ready to leave the Premier League champions. Sascha Boey, of Galatasaray, is also said to be an option.

Tottenham Hotspur

Yesterday, it was suggested that Harry Kane is subject to interest from Real Madrid after they waved goodbye to Karim Benzema. On Tuesday, Ange Postecoglu was appointed as the new manager in north London.

As he gets his feet under the desk, it has been reported that Manchester United captain is a target for the Whites. That comes from The Telegraph who say that Spurs have shown an interest in the England international.

Maguire, who has suffered in recent seasons at Old Trafford, has faced questions over his form which has lead to Gareth Southgate admitting that he may have to consider his place in the England squad if his lack of gametime continues. It has been claimed that he is available this summer at a cut-price as Erik ten Hag weighs up his options.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United are reportedly looking to further bolster their defensive ranks ahead of their first campaign in the Champions League in 20 years. Reports in Italy, namely from Calciomercato suggest that the Magpies are among three clubs interested in a summer move for Roger Ibanez.

The AS Roma defender could be used by the Serie A outfit to add funds to their coffers with the fee for the Brazil defender in the region of £25m.

Aston Villa and Spurs are also reported to be interested. The Athletic, meanwhile, claims that Newcastle aren't interested in Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic.

The USMNT forward looks to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge as they look to cut down on their squad following their free-spending in the two previous transfer windows.

Manchester United

Investment reports continue to circle Old Trafford amid claims that Sir Jim Radcliffe and Sheikh Jassim are interested in acquiring the Red Devils.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are targeting a move for highly-rated Chicago Fire midfielder Brian Gutierrez. It's been reported that Erik ten Hag's side are looking to strengthen their midfield options this summer with the 19-year-old catching their eye.

Another player they're being frequently linked with is Napoli defender Kim Min-jae. The Napoli stopper is fresh from celebrating their long-awaited Scudetto success but with the season concluded, United are looking to strengthen at the back with the defender.
