Liverpool 'seduced' by France World Cup striker as £68m price tag set

Liverpool are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani following a meteoric rise into the French national team.

That is according Foot Mercato, who claim that Jurgen Klopp's side, as well as Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, have become 'seduced' by the 24-year-old after an explosive start to the campaign that has seen him rack up five goals and 10 assists in 14 Bundesliga matches.

That form led Kolo Muani to becoming a surprise late addition to Didier Deschamps' France squad for the World Cup, replacing RB Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku after he pulled out with an injury. And the Frankfurt rising star won just his third cap when starting in the final group game against Tunisia.

While his solo performance in the Middle East may not have caught any watching eyes - France lost 1-0 to Tunisia in their final group game having already qualified for the knockout stages - it is the latest step in a rapid rise to prominence for Kolo Muani that has seen attract interest from several of Europe's top sides.

But with a contract until 2026, signed in the summer after his deal at Nantes came to an end, Frankfurt know they can command a high fee.

German outlet Bild reported in November that any suitors will have to pay upwards of €70million, but this most recent from Foot Mercato adds that Kolo Muani inclusion in the France squad pushes that value up 'much closer to €80million'.

Kolo Muani joined Frankfurt from Nantes in the summer after spending seven years at the French outfit, firstly in the academy before breaking into the first team in 2018. He scored 23 goals in 87 games for the senior side across all competitions.
