Newcastle United just need three more wins to ensure Liverpool cannot overtake them in the Premier League this season. Jurgen Klopp's side are possibly the most dangerous of those currently outside the top four, with only a handful of games remaining.
Eddie Howe's Magpies kept the gap between themselves and the Reds to nine points with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Thursday night, and face basement side Southampton at St James' Park on Sunday.
Liverpool can still achieve a total of 71 points following their 2-1 win at West Ham on Wednesday, but that would require the Anfield outfit to win all their remaining six games. Three more wins for Newcastle, currently on 62 points, would match that total, with the Magpies having a superior goal difference.

Of course it's not just Liverpool would could crash the party. In-form Aston Villa have played a game more than most and can reach 69 points with a maximum return, as can Tottenham, who responded to their St James' Park thrashing with a 2-2 draw against Manchester United, having been two goals behind.
Brighton still have eight games to play, but following their 3-1 defeat to stugglers Nottingham Forest, look like they have their work cut out to mount a challenge. They still can get 73 points with eight wins - but with Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester City still to face, that would be a truly remarkable feat.
If Liverpool are seen as the biggest threat to the top four, then they must look to take close to maximum points from their remaining games. Since a nightmare second half of March, Klopp's men have put together some form that has seen them beat Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and West Ham.
They kick off with a trio of home games at Anfied, with Tottenham first on Sunday, before Fulham (Wednesday, May 3) and Brentford (Saturday, May 6). They must got to relegation strugglers Leicester (May 15) and Southampton (May 28) either side of a final home game with Aston Villa (May 20).
