Liverpool's next six Premier League fixtures compared to rivals as Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle drop points

Liverpool secured a fourth consecutive Premier League victory after getting the better of Leicester City at Anfield on Friday night.

It was Brendan Rodgers' side who took the lead early on through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall but the Reds overturned the deficit in fortuitous fashion courtesy of two Wout Faes own goals in the space of seven minutes.

And it has got better for Jurgen Klopp's team over the weekend as firstly Newcastle United and then Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea dropped points. Third-placed Newcastle drew 0-0 at home to Leeds United before fifth-placed Tottenham went down 2-0 at home to Aston Villa and Chelsea, who are now eighth, drew 1-1 at Nottingham Forest.

It means Liverpool are sixth, four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who did manage to win over the weekend, 1-0 at Wolves, going into Monday's trip to Brentford.

Below is a look at the Reds' next six league fixtures - then those of their rivals.

Liverpool’s next six Premier League fixtures:

January 2 - Brentford (A) - On Monday evening, Liverpool will take on Thomas Frank's in-form Bees. Brentford continued their impressive run of form with a victory away at West Ham United on Friday.

January 14 - Brighton (A) - Another away trip follows 12 days on from facing the fees as Liverpool go head-to-head with Brighton. The Seagulls went down 4-2 at home to leaders Arsenal on Saturday.

January 21 - Chelsea (H) - A huge game for the Reds. Often a fixture filled with drama, Liverpool were held to draws in both league matches with the Londoners last campaign - something they will be hoping to avoid this term by claiming three points on home soil.

February 4 - Wolves (A) - Wolves have not enjoyed a positive start to the season but ended a dismal run of league results by beating Everton on their travels on Boxing Day before losing to United on Saturday. New head Coach Julen Lopetegui appears to have galvanised his group, making this a more challenging contest than it would have perhaps been a matter of weeks ago.

February 13 - Everton (H) - There was nothing to separate the sides in the first Merseyside derby of 2022/23, but Liverpool will fancy their chances of coming out on top at Anfield.

February 18 - Newcastle (A) - Arguably the toughest fixture in this list. Eddie Howe's men find themselves in Champions League contention and appear to be full of confidence at this moment in time.
