Liverpool's Forever 21 store stands empty as it closes for good

Liverpool's Forever 21 is now closed, months after the company announced it would be closing all of its UK stores.

Back in October 2019, signs were placed in its windows which read "closing down everything must go", which appeared alongside ones advertising for Christmas staff.

Uncertainty surrounding the future of the city's Forever 21 store started in September when it closed "due to unforeseen circumstances" after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the USA.

At the time, a statement from the company said it planned to "exit most international locations in Asia and Europe" and expects to close up to 350 stores worldwide.

Since the announcements last year the store has been offering up to 80% off products with jewellery items for around 50p.

Other stores across the country had closed before Christmas including Birmingham's Bullring shop.

And, now Liverpool's store, which was based on the corner of Whitechapel and Church Street, stands empty. All clothing rails and stock has been removed from the building.

A new retailer is yet to be announced for the site but let us know in the comments below which store you'd like to see open in its space.
