A Liverpool restaurant serving what customers called the ‘best burgers ever’ is closing down.
Frost Burgers is considered by many of its fans as being one of the pioneers of vegan food on the Liverpool restaurant scene. After opening in 2018, it became popular with lovers of vegan ‘junk food’ and many have shared their sadness after the restaurant announced its closure in an Instagram post.
The owners told followers it hoped closing its Manchester venue would help secure the future of the Liverpool restaurant, but said the business was ‘beyond recovery’, citing the ‘insane rise in costs and VAT' as a factor. Sharing the news, Frost Burgers said: “We recently announced our Manchester location would be closing, after careful consideration of further revelations we’ve made the decision to close our Liverpool branch and say goodbye to Frost Burgers.

“We initially thought that despite the insane rise in costs, VAT etc, closing Manchester would help us to keep Frost Burgers alive; but unfortunately it became apparent very quickly that wouldn’t be the case. We considered all options, and no matter how we might try change things up sadly, as a business we are beyond recovery and it would be irresponsible of us to attempt to ride it out any further.
“Frost Burgers started as a dream, and that’s just what it’s been to share our food with you all. Spreading the plant based message and showing you can still enjoy foods you know and love has always been what Frost Burgers has been about, and we’ve been blessed to have been part of the amazing Vegan community in Liverpool”.
More than 1,000 people commented on the post, with many saying they were ‘devastated’ by the decision. Xhayley_kittyx said: “I don’t believe it. I was there opening day. Absolutely love the place. Another vegan business gone, that’s the 7th vegan business in Liverpool that’s closed this year. This government has a lot to answer for.”
