An Indian restaurant in Liverpool has won a ‘best takeaway’ prize at the English Curry Awards 2022.
Khaja Indian Takeaway on Allerton Road, Woolton, was named Takeaway of the Year in the North West’ at the ceremony in Birmingham, with the winners voted for by members of the public. The awards are organised by Oceanic Consulting to recognise hard work, determination, impeccable service and efforts of England’s best curry establishments and professionals.
The owners of Khaja Indian Takeaway on Allerton Road, Woolton said they are extremely proud and honoured to have won a prestigious English Curry Award. A spokesperson for the restaurant said: “Although Khaja Indian has been put up against some of the best Indian takeaways in the North West, this award put us out there to be the best of the best. Furthermore; having great food, great service and immense support of loyal customers makes all the hard work worth it!”

Khaja has been serving authentic food in Liverpool for 16 years, using fresh ingredients, herbs and spices and is launching a new menu soon. The spokesperson added: “We would like to thank everyone for their nomination and great support shown in achieving another prestigious award, especially in current circumstances the nation is facing with cost of living spiralling out of control and the huge impact on small businesses in the food and drinks sector. The team at Khaja is extremely excited to have won the award giving them great confidence in their passion for authentic Indian food.”
